2012 Kickoff Recap

    

     Our 4th Annual Season Kickoff Event and Membership Drive at Juniper Golf Course is behind us and was a huge success.  Over 60 people attended which included 3 of our corporate sponsors, 10 amazing vendors, our members and their guests.  We are excited about the 13 new members who joined EWGA that day.  Congratulation to Michelle Rich, the winner of the one year membership!  We are most grateful to our many EWGA supporters for the wonderful raffle and silent auction items that were donated to help make our event exciting and successful.

     Following the event, 22 people participated in and gained skills from the informative clinics put on by the Juniper PGA professionals.   Steve Bratcher’s clinic focused on improving our full swing using the proper grip and set up and Bruce Wattenburger’s clinic focused on improving the short game with tips on chipping.  Some hit the course afterwards to test out what they learned.

     This event will be followed by a new member orientation on May 3 at 5 Fusion and then a New Member scramble on May 12 at Lost Tracks, as well as launching our season leagues and clinics. 

LEAGUE

      Saturday League

       We will start our Saturday League play at Widgi Creek this Saturday May 5th and would love to have you join us.  The cost is $39 for walking or $55 for riding (for 18 holes)  If you only want to play 9 holes please advise when RSVPing.  Three (3) tee times have been reserved beginning at 11:18 a:m.   The third Saturday of May (May 19th) tee times will begin at 11:45 a:m; 11:54 a:m and 12:03 p:m (same rate as May 5th), I will send out a sign up later, just wanted to give you advance notice.  We will be playing a different course in June.  Dates/Time/Location to be determined.

 Tuesday League

      We have changed the venue for our May Tuesday League beginning Tuesday May 8th.  We will be playing at Lost Tracks.  Four (4) tee times have been reserved beginning at 5:15 p:m.  The cost is $22 walking or $26 for riding (for 9 holes). 

 It is important that after you receive the pairing email and elect not to play it is your responsibility to notify the Pro Shop.  

  Day League 

      With everything we have going on in the month of May, the Board elected to delay Day League until June, however if there is enough interest, we will entertain beginning mid-May.  Please email me if you are interested in playing in May.  I will need a minimum of six interested members.  mdmaddux@msn.com 


     If anyone is interested in helping with League sign-up, please feel free to speak up.   You have the option of being responsible for all Leagues or Evening League, Day League or Saturday League.

Presiden't Message

          Our 2012 golf season has formally launched.  What a fantastic 2012 KickOff Event!!   A special thank you to all that made it so successful and we truly appreciate all the dedication and endless hours involved in producing such a fun time. 

     Welcome to all our new members.  There are so many benefits of EWGA membership and each of us has our own reasons for joining. Maybe you like the convenience of having golf organized for you or the variety of courses you can play. Perhaps it's the great friendships you will make over the years or the opportunity to learn new leadership skills.  Whatever your reason we are glad you elected to join or renew your membership.  We look forward to getting to know our new members and learning more about our renewing members and having you experience as we do what a great organization EWGA is. 

     For those of you, who were able to attend the New Member Orientation and still have questions, please do not hesitate to contact any of the Board Members or Committee Chairs; for those who were not able to attend we hope to have a second New Member Orientation in late May, watch for the email blasts.  We are now over 80 strong and 2011 looks to be a fabulous year.   We are always looking for volunteers to help us so please let one of the officers know if you would like to get involved.
